For today’s restaurant restaurant review, I’m focusing on Sakura Sushi House. I visit this place at least once a month and sadly I’m just now getting around to reviewing it. I absolutely love it. Japanese cuisine is my absolute favorite and this is the home of some great sushi. The owners actually remodeled and extended it sometime last year and it looks even better than it did before.
For my meal, I ordered Miso soup, Spicy Shrimp, Spicy Crab, and the Pink Lady rolls while my companion got the Spicy Phoenix roll. We ended up sharing them all. The Pink Lady is composed of Shrimp tempura, avocado, and mango wrapped in a pink *soybean wrapping. It was a nice blend of sweet, crunchy, and fishy. The Spicy Shrimp & Crab roll are just those particular seafood items in a spicy saucy wrapped in rice. Those are the rolls that I always get when I’m craving sushi. The Spicy Phoenix is made of *crawfish, shrimp, and crab coated in a spicy sauce and wrapped in a *soybean wrapping. Everything tasted fresh and all of the flavors mingled together well. I’m not a sauce person, but I tried the sauce that came with the Pink Lady and it wasn’t bad. Any place that can get me to try sauces gets an A in my book.
If you’re looking for a place with good sushi in the Fairlawn area, this is the place to go. The staff is nice and attentive, the decor is really comforting, and you can even sit at the sushi bar and watch the chefs make your food. On top of all of that, the food photographs really well.
