Lovely Somethings, a modern paper boutique located on Cleveland-Massillon Rd., is a little hidden gem on the west side of Akron. Liz, the owner, is a wonderfully kind woman who didn’t run the opposite direction when I revealed that I had been internet stalking the shop on Instagram.

Don’t judge me. If you’d seen how beautiful her IG feed was, you’d internet stalk her shop too (in a non-creepy way).

Regardless, this modern paper boutique is what dreams are made of for a paper and pen-holic like me. The shop is comprised of two stories, with the bottom level being retail focused, while the top is where wedding consultations and other events are held. In the retail portion, you step into a shock of bright pink and white that both energizes and soothes you.

Liz has stocked the shop with all manner of witty cards, calendars, handy organizers, clean notebooks, stationary, slick pens, Blackwing pencils, sweet treats, and more. On top of that, she also offers personalized invitations. If you think of it, she probably has it. Because this is a small business that highlights products from other small businesses and artisans, prices range from budget friendly to higher-end, depending upon what you’re looking for. There is a little something for everyone’s budget.

Beyond her eye for design, Liz has a strong social media presence and engages with customers, gives peeks into her life, uses polls for new products, and seeks out opinions for things like changes to store hours. I always applaud those business owners who can seamlessly balance the friendly, homey and inviting air with a high level of attention to detail.

Even though I’ve only known of its existence since early this year, I’ve probably visited the shop over a half dozen times. I’m now a more stylishly organized version of my old self and I’m supporting a local, small business in the process. That’s a win-win in my book. So, if you don’t know, now you know.
