Summer Fun: Italian-American Festival

A couple of weekends ago, I had a chance to drop by the Italian-American Festival. I have a fierce love of Italian food, so hitting up the festival is a must for me. It was located in downtown Akron and spanned the entire weekend.

Each day that had a main event with a plethora of smaller events. They even had a group mass at the Civic Theater on that Sunday.

I was surrounded by delicacies, from italian sausages and stromboli to cannolis and zeppoli. The air was filled with the sounds and smells of Italy. A band played towards the entrance and I definitely heard an accordion. It was interesting to see so many people of Italian descent in one place. I couldn’t help but notice the heavy accents and similar features. It’s really cool actually.

After grabbing some lemonade and an Italian sausage, I went down to Lock 3 where they had a Lamborghini and Ferrari parked in the lawn. Those were beautiful machines. I will admit that I may have had to wipe a bit of drool from the corner of my mouth.

The rest of the festival featured more food and games for children. The magician was actually really good. He did a card trick that stumped me a little. Overall, it was a great experience, but I mainly came for the food. Here are some more pictures from the event.

Peace,
