One of the pluses of having a roommate/best friend (Joe Hill) who is also a budding photographer is that he’s always using me for test shots and portfolio builders. I enjoy it because I spend a lot of time behind the camera and it’s always fun to be in front of it. He’s also one of the few people who has the ability to get my good side in photos. In other people’s pictures of me I think I look quite goofy.

I didn’t always have this confidence in front of the camera. I used to hate it. Growing up I have a bunch of pictures, but not very many with me in them. I was always the one behind the lens. The last few years I’ve been able to break out of my shell and do lots of things I never thought I would. For example, public speaking used to be the bane of my existence. Now, I can do it pretty well. I think I’m going to start a bucket list soon. I really enjoy a good challenge. Anyway, enjoy the rest of the photos.
