In the past few months I’d been discussing a collaborative project with Joe Hill. Today, this project has been given birth. I present to you “Beyond Tea with the Mad Artist.”
As I’ve mentioned before, I enjoy cooking. I enjoy making things that look and smell good. Joe Hill and I put our heads together and decided to create artistic cooking videos. There’s a possibility that we may have something bigger in the works as well. Keep an eye out for that.
But for now Ta-da!
For this meal I split a bag of chicken wings and created two different types of chicken.
Baked Wings
Oven at 400 degrees
Ingredients
Chicken Wings (15)
1/2 cup Olive Oil
Mesquite Seasoning
1 Tbs Butter
Honey
1.5 oz Hot Sauce
2 Tbs Soy Sauce
Rise wings and dry with a paper towel. Coat with Olive Oil and Mesquite Seasoning then place in oven for 45 mins. While the wings are cooking, mix up the sauce.
Melt butter in container and mix Soy Sauce, Hot Sauce, Honey and Mesquite Seasoning to taste. I like my wings a little on the spicy side so I used a lot of hot sauce.
When wings are done coat them with the sauce and place back in the oven for 15 more minutes.
When done transfer to plate and serve hot.
Fried Wings
Heat blend of Sunflower Oil and Grapeseed Oil in skillet on high heat. Make sure the oil will come up to at least half of the wings.
Ingredients
Chicken Wings (15)
2/3 cup of Almond Meal
2/3 cup of Whole Wheat Flour
Mesquite Seasoning
Salt & Pepper
3 Eggs
1 Cup of Almond Milk
Rinse wings and dry with a paper towel. Salt, pepper, and sprinkle with Mesquite Seasoning.
Mix up Almond Meal, Whole Wheat Flour and 2 tbs of Mesquite Seasoning. Whisk together eggs and almond milk until completely blended.
Dip wings in dry mixture then wet mixture then back in dry mixture. Place wings in a single layer in heated skillet. Fry at least 3 minutes on both sides and puncture to make sure juices run clear. If juices run red then leave in skillet for longer time.
Once done lay wings on paper towel to soak up oil. Be CAREFUL! They are hot. Serve hot.
Sautéed Asparagus
Ingredients
1/2 Stick of Butter
Fist full of Asparagus
Salt & Pepper
Chicken Seasoning
Melt butter in a medium skillet over medium heat and add asparagus. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and chicken seasoning. Cooks for 10-15 mins or until the are cooked through.
Serve immediately.
*Note: Make sure you are cooking everything correctly. Joe Hill nor myself are at fault if you get sick. Chicken should be cooked completely through.
Until next time,
