Review
Bricco is an Italian restaurant located in downtown Akron. There is also another one in downtown Cleveland and a Cafe Bricco in the area as well. I’ve been to Bricco in Akron several times in the last year or so. It’s a great place for me to grab lunch when I’m craving Italian, hungry after my internship or want to have dinner and a martini with friends. It has a great, relaxed atmosphere. The servers are nice and I don’t remember ever having a problem with my meal. I don’t find it very expense. It’s not Applebees, but it’s not Bravo. It’s somewhere in between.
Whenever I go for lunch, I always go for the pan seared crab cake topped with a fennel salad and caper, chive remoulade on a brioche bun. There is an explosion of flavor in this dish. The crab cake is massive and tends to fall out of the bun. I’m normally not fond of capers but that remoulade works well in conjunction with the other flavors in this dish.
The day that I took the photos below, I paired my meal with a pear martini. It was a bit on the strong side, but was still pretty good. Next time, I’ll ask them to make it less potent. I also got the flour-less chocolate cake. That thing was too sweet for me and this is coming from the woman born with a sweet tooth. No wonder it was called “Decadence!”
Overall, I always have a pleasant experience. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice meal in downtown Akron.
