Cafe Review: The Blue Door Cafe & Bakery

“If more of us valued food and cheer above hoarded gold, it would be a much merrier world.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien

Earlier today, I had the pleasure of visiting a fairly new cafe in one of the areas I frequent. The Blue Door Cafe & Bakery has only been open for business for exactly one year. Me and my companion for the afternoon had actually decided to go to a different cafe, but due to the first one being “cash only” we had to switch up our plans. I’m actually really glad we did.

I love finding new places to dine and new food to try. I am a bit of an explorer when it comes to food. I will try anything once. I tend to gross people out when I begin to list the wide variety of foods I have tried. Often times, the ones that would seem so normal would be the ones that I didn’t find appealing.

I have always viewed food as a special kind of art. It takes a little bit of skill to make things come out tasting good, as well as looking good. I follow a couple of people on Instagram that post their meals every day and they always look absolutely fabulous. It makes me envy and miss life in a big city. It’s not as hard to find great places to hang out and dine on good, healthy food.

This place is cute and the decoration is very simple. The food is displayed very beautifully and they use all natural ingredients. I love this. I’m a bit of a health nut, so I greatly appreciate this gesture. As a person who eats vegetarian 75% of the time, I was happy to see that they had a decent amount of non-animal dishes. I ordered an Ice Tea, the Summer Frittata with Fruit and a Croissant. Let me just tell you that the frittata was amazing. It was composed of eggs, asparagus, mushrooms, and tomatoes topped with goat  cheese. It was light and airy, the flavors exploded in your mouth, and it tasted fresh. The fruit was fresh and juicy, and the croissant was delicious plus it looked gorgeous.

I believe it was either the owner or the manager who saw me taking pictures of the food and he gave me this sticky bun for free! How awesome is that?! By the way, the sticky bun was divine!

I would definitely make my way back over there to try out more of their dishes. They are reasonably priced and the employees are nice. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

So, if you’re in the area, you have got to check this place out.
