Coffee Hop: Heartwood Coffee Roasters

Tucked in the back of a small plaza learn the heart of Hudson sits Heartwood Coffee Roasters, a new coffee shop in the area. Since coffee is my lifeblood, I couldn’t wait to check it out. Opened in early June, Heartwood is cute and quaint. The style is modern with natural elements and a welcoming atmosphere.

I stopped by a couple of times over the last week to really get a feel for the place. The first time, the owners were there and they were incredibly nice. This is one of the few coffee shops where I didn’t have to put my headphones on because they were playing pretty much the same playlist that I listen to when I work.

In addition to roasting their own coffee, they sell Brimfield Bread Oven pastries and bread, in addition to making their own peanut butter. The staff is really nice and the shop is aesthetically pleasing. I got the Chocolate Latte, both over ice and hot, and they were pretty good. I’ll have to try a pour over the next time I’m there, so I can give an appropriate judgement of that.
