Last month, I got the chance to help my friend, Tessa, vend in Ohio City’s Hingetown for her company, Neighbors Apparel. I know that I’ve mentioned Neighbors Apparel before, but there’s nothing wrong with a shameless plug here or there.
Neighbors Apparel is a local clothing shop that employees South East Asian refugee women to create their fashionable pieces. The fabric is actually handwoven from the women’s home country. You can check out the website here.
Now that I got that out of the way, the Sunday Market is developed by those who gave us The Cleveland Flea. It’s a brunch and shop gathering held once a month and features vintage dealers, local creators, and local stores. A few of my favorites include On the Lookout (jewelry), Eleven By Seventeen (art), and Wright & Rede (leather accessories).
It was an amazingly fun time and I look forward to helping her vend again this weekend. So, if you’re in the Cleveland area, come out to the Sunday Market in Hingetown (1455 W 29th St.) from 10-4pm on August 16th.
Hopefully, I’ll see you there.
